Students will identify the similarities and differences of their two writing pieces while completing the student self-assessment sheet. Alignment with Standards: must support unit standards identified in TWS 3. Common Core: Standard The student will write for a variety of purposes and audiences. SC State Standard: Paraphrase research information accurately and meaningfully. Refer back to TWS 1. Martins class is focusing on ELA Common Core levels 4th-6th grade. This lesson is on a 5th grade ELA level.

While watching the movie, students will be instructed to pay close attention to what they see and hear. Students will create a T-Chart, labeling each item that they see and hear. The students will complete the T-chart while watching the video to help them capture and organize their thoughts.
